Consumer electronics giant Sony recently released a wide range of new devices. Tablets, laptops, hybrid tablet/PCs, and cellphones – some of these do suggest that Sony, after a dry spell, is back in the game.
Apart from a range of enticing Windows 8 tablets, Sony’s biggest new launches have been its Xperia Android smartphones. The main ones the Japanese company launched last week include the Sony Xperia T, TX, V, and J.
Out of these, the Sony Xperia T is the company’s flagship device. Boasting a 4.6-inch HD Reality multitouch display, the Xperia T is packed to the gills with some serious hardware. A 13 megapixel rear camera should satisfy all but the most demanding shutterbugs. The NFC capability should please those who want to try out the latest mobile wallet technology, while the LTE Internet should be perfect for video streaming! All this is backed by a gutsy 1.5Ghz dual-core processor.
The Xperia V is the next one up as far as Sony’s newest Android smartphones go. The Sony Xperia V packs a 4.3 inch screen, packaged with hardware similar to the Xperia T. Buyers of the Xperia V will, like those who go in for the bigger Xperia T model, get a 13 megapixel main camera, full-HD video recording capabilities, 1GB on RAM, 16GB of onboard memory, GLONASS and GPS satellite navigation and positioning, and the fantastic Adreno 225 graphics processor that should make games fly! Of course, the Xperia V, being smaller, has a slightly smaller battery too – 1750 mAH versus the Sony Xperia T’s 1850 mAH battery. However, the smaller display size should give the Xperia V very good battery life. The Xperia V also has one feature that should be a unique draw – Sony claims its new Android smartphone has the industry’s best water resistance – making this perfect for the outdoor-loving user!
The Xperia TX is also very similar to the Xperia TX, albeit with a smaller, 1750 mAH battery. It will, however, be available in black, pink and white! (The Xperia T will come in black, silver, and white)
Rounding up Sony’s newest smartphones is the capable-but-affordable Xperia J. This, with a rather decent 4 inch display, will come with a 5 megapixel camera, 1 Ghz single core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB onboard memory, and a 1750 mAH battery. Unlike its siblings, the Xperia J is not Playstation-certified, and lacks Glonass support . However, all phones in the new Xperia range – the Sony Xperia T, TX, V, and J feature expandable memory which should make them fantastic for music and video on the move!
Along with this, you get Google Play, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and Sony’s Walkman capabilities!
Looking at these new Android smartphones from Sony, the T and TX will appeal to the gadget freaks who want the most powerful devices around, while the Xperia V, with its industry-leading water resistance, should be perfect for those on the move, and the Xperia J should give you an affordable mid-range handset with a large, 4 inch display!
